In UEFA and FIFA rankings, Alexandru Tudor is the best Romanian referee. Dan Tudor became a UEFA Premier Category referee at the start of season 2010-2011, 6 moths later that category seemed to have disappeared, he now is a 1st category ref.

14 big 4's
In the First Romanian League, Alexandru has 14 matches between the Big Four clubs (Steaua, Dinamo, Rapid, CFR Cluj) on his name: three Dinamo - Steaua, five Rapid - Dinamo, one CFR Cluj - Dinamo, three Steaua - Rapid, one Steaua - CFR Cluj, 1 Rapid - CFR CLuj.

tough
Tudor is well-known for his tough style. In Romania he is a type of referee who whistles a lot and quite easy shows cards, internationally though he seems to be the opposite.
Since 1999 Tudor is active in Romanian's First Division.

up
Alexandru seemed to be on his way up. As most referees he started doing qualifiers. For the UEFA Cup, Champions League, World Cup 2006 and EURO 2008. He took charge of two matches in the 2004 Euro U21 and many UEFA Cup matches and finally his debut in the Champions League November 2008.

cards
Once, when we just started with this site, Alexander was one of our favorites because of his cool style and the fact he hardly booked, sometimes not at all. Lately though he seems to have changed, his severity, well known at home, has showed itself in international matches, accumulating in the 16 yellow cards he showed in a 2011 Europa League play-off.
