Willie

2012-03-23

In Scotland he is often referred to as Willie instead of William.

After the 2012 League Cup match Celtic-Kilmarnock (0-1) Willie received e-mail death threats serious enough for the police to investigate. One threat came from a girl from the school where he teaches.

He officiated in the Ballymena International Schools Tournament in April 2003 and the Dallas Cup Youth Tournament in the USA, May 2004.

Collum hates players who cheat. "They are not only cheating referees but also their fellow professionals and the supporters."

Since he took up refereeing Collum became addicted to running. He considers his fitness one of his biggest assets.

He works as teacher in Religious Education on a Catholic secondary school and is a teetotaler.
