The 2004 preliminary match fo=r the Champions League between Pobeda (Macedonia) and Pyunik (Armenia) was fixed. Accusations were raised by UEFA against the president of Pobeda Alexander Zabrcanec and the former team captain Nikolche Zdraveski. Pobeda lost 3 - 1, so they must have bet against their own team.

It could be a bad joke or a mistake, but Damir Skomina's home address appeared on a forum on the net when he (or someone else) asked the Albanian Sheraton if they had found his track suit (with FIFA badge) he had accidentally left in his room.

Although he was only 4th official, Damir Skomina got famous during a Germany versus Austria match in EURO 2008. After continious complaining of coaches Jogi Löw (Germany) and Hickersberger (Austria), Damir asked leading referee Mejuto González to handle this case. Mejuto González asked both coaches to behave themselves and to stay inside their training area. When this warning was violated again five minutes later, González and Skomina sent both trainers far off the playground.
