Marcello Nicchi was born in Arezzo on 1953. He debuted in the Serie A in 1988 (thanks to his chief Cesare Gussoni). FIFA badge in 1993. Nicchi quit in 1997 because of bad reviews and because of trouble with a meniscus.
Nicchi was the fourth man to referee Pairetto at the 1996 Euro final between Germany and Czech Republic, This may be his only feat as an international referee, but he seems much more successful as a football politician. He ran against Agnolin for the presidency of the AIA, lost, but won the second time.
