
Steve Lodge started refereeing at 19 but it took him until he turned 39 to become a Premier League referee in 1992. A year later (already) he got his FIFA badge which he held until 1997.

Stephen Lodge took charge of the 1997 FA Cup final. He retired in 2001. Although he was quick to become an international referee, he hasn't officiate many matches neither very important ones.
After he retired he had a job at Leeds United instructing players how to stay cool and behave.
