Albert Dusch was a goalie with Kaiserslautern until 1935. The story goes he got bored during a suspension and started to get interested in refereeing. He was internationally active between 1951 and 1962 and active at two World Cup finals: 1958 and 1962.

His match at the 1962 World Cup was his last, he retired immediately after it.
Dusch took charge of the finals of the Fairs Cup and the European Cup.
