Debut first division: 1974. More than 600 matches. In 1989 Esposito and his team received death threats in Colombia where they were for the match Atletico Nacional vs Danubio from Montevideo. The match ended 6-0 for Nacional and 12 people were killed during the festivities. The chief of police who escorted them out of the stadium was later assassinated. This was one of the reasons he decided to retire.
