Juan Cardellino de San Vicente was a very successful international referee. Among the many important ones, he took charge of three matches in two World Cup finals (two in 1982 (one semi-final) and one in 1990) and no less than 4 finals of the Copa Libertadores. See his palmares
Cardellino died of an illness in September 2007.
