It didn't take Panama referee Roberto Moreno long to reach the Professional National League after he started in 1989. His first international match was FAS (El Salvador) vs Municipal (Guatemala) in 1998.
Moreno officiated in the CONCACAF Copa de Oro, and UNCAF Copa de Naciones. In the Copa de Oro 2007 he refereed one of the semifinals played between Mexico and Guadalupe, in a full-stadium with more than 70.000 people.
In June 2008, Moreno participated in the 1st FIFA test for candidates to officiate in the next World Cup in 2010, in Islas Canarias, Spain. He passed, and he went to the next meeting in September in Zurich. But he didn't end up on the list of 38.
Moreno was selected for the 2008 Olympic Games.
He is on the list of 52 for the 2014 World Cup.
