In march 2010 Rocchi came back on his decision to give a penalty to Sampdoria in a match against Parma. He had pointed to the spot and booked Parma side Galoppa. Then after a minute he changed his opinion, Rocchi retracted the yellow card (!) , explained himself to the Parma goalie and booked a Sampdoria player for diving and resumed play with a free kick. Rocchi stated the decision to change was his and that he didn't hear anything from his 4th official, who is not allowed to influence the game.
Rocchi was named in the Italian Moggi scandal. Moggi was a powerful fixer of Juventus. Hence out the book of Verdachte voorzetten, Jurriaan van Wessem: in a Verona x Lazio match in the season 2004-2005: Verona looses two players and were denied a clear penalty. From our reporter: Kvas
