In 2001 four men attacked Taras Bezubyak in the hallway of his apartment building in St Petersburg. He was hit repeatedly on the head and suffered a concussion.
The same happened to Zenit player Alexandru Curtianu in 1999.
According to the Police it didn't look like a planned action related to soccer, but just "regular hooliganism".
