It was 1 goal all and there was a minute left of playing time of the 1961 European Cup semi-final Rapid Wien - Benfica, when the rioting among the spectators and the player's dissent became so bad that Leafe stopped the match. Having won the first leg, the Portuguese had been spending the last minutes kicking the ball into the stands (and getting it back could take a long time in those days: they used only one ball and spectators sometimes tended to keep the ball and even play with it among themselves).
